After Laal Singh Chaddha hit theatres yesterday, a fringe group tried to stop the screening of the Aamir Khan starrer in PVR cinemas in Jalandhar alleging that the movie hurts religious sentiments.
The group even chanted, "Amir Khan Murdabad" in protest against the film. According to them, Aamir Khan, had earlier insulted Hindu Gods and deities in his movie PK, which was released in 2014. The film featured Sushant Singh Rajput and Anushka Sharma apart from him in lead roles.
However, the 3 Idiots actor had earlier appealed to people not to boycott his film after the controversial video wherein he talks about his wife not feeling safe in India surfaced on social media.
"I feel sad also because a lot of people who are saying this in their hearts believe I am someone who doesn't like India... In their hearts they believe that... And that's quite untrue," he said as per ANI reports.
