Much-Needed: Ali Fazal Shares Emotional Video On Rising Islamophobia & Everyone Should Watch It
Islamophobia is making the crisis of coronavirus in India worse than it already is. Communalism is once again gripping India. The hashtag Islamophibia began circulating soon after Tablighi Jamaat, a Muslim missionary group, that held its annual conference in Nizamuddin West, Delhi was found to be the epicenter of spread of the coronavirus in different parts of the country.
In wake of rising Islamophibia and attacks on Muslims in the country, Ali Fazal took to social media to share a video that talks about the same.
In the caption, he wrote, "Bas. teen dafa post ka button dabaane se pehle ruka. Shayad isiliye chauhti baar dabaana pada..¡± (I stopped thrice before pressing the button to post this video, probably that¡¯s why I had to press it the fourth time)".
The video has been conceptualised by Nasir Khan, who has also given the voiceover to it.
¡°My friend used to ask me if I have ever been to a Muslim colony, and that it is scary to go there alone. He was scared of Muslims. Although he loved Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, he wasn¡¯t afraid of them. He was just afraid of Muslims. He pursued engineering with me and was extremely interested in science. He said he wanted to become a scientist like Abdul Kalam. He wasn¡¯t afraid of him. He was just afraid of Muslims," he says in the video.
¡°Probably he was scared of those Muslims made up by politics and newspapers, who were harmful in imagination, but extremely sweet in reality,¡± he adds.
Meanwhile, #CoronaJihad is another hashtag that has been found circulating on Twitter. At the time, when we all should stay united and fight against coronavirus, the communalism is making the situation even more dangerous.
