The supremely promising and upcoming Telugu film director, Nag Ashwin shared an idea that could possibly help movie theatres increase footfall and aid them from going obsolete. The background to this suggestion comes from the ongoing discussion about how movie theatres will cease to exist if all films choose to get released on OTT platforms.
Nag Ashwin's recommendation? To serve alcohol inside theatres and thereby increasing the footfall.
Once In a talk with suresh babu garu and rana, it came up what if theaters get license to serve beer/breezer/wine, like in other countries..could it increase footfalls...could it save the theater business (which does need saving)...wat do you think? Good idea, bad idea?

I can only imagine how much they would charge for liquor. Cola costs more than ?200 now.

Imagine Drunkard creating nuisance at Theatres, Will Families go to watch the film ? Not only families no one would prefer to watch a film in such environment.

What if people misbehave after drinking ? Moreover we Indians are known for taking leniency and do whatever we want. Also police can't take any action on a drunkard. So, I believe this idea is bad.

It leads to more problems rather than increasing the revenue for theatres.

Not a bad idea and definitely not a good idea too.
Bad idea. Indian parents will not allow their teen kids and college going students to go watch a movie. While they are the biggest audience on day 1

All of these fan reactions are completely valid and justified. If alcohol is served inside movie theatres, we would be giving rise to a plethora of other problems resulting from bad behavior after excessive drinking. The pandemic has demanded businesses to have a good look at how they were functioning and redesign themselves to fit the new brave and changing world.
