Nagarjuna Adopts 1,080 Acres Of Forest Land In Telangana, Donates Rs 2 Cr To Set Up Urban Park
Actor Nagarjuna has adopted 1,080 acre of forest land in Chengicherla, Telangana and has donated Rs 2 crore to build a urban park with picnic spots.
Actor Nagarjuna has adopted 1,080 acre of forest land in Chengicherla, Telangana, on the occasion of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao's birthday.
The actor and his family laid the foundation to set up an urban park in his father Akkineni Nageswara Rao's name.

The family has donated Rs two crore for the cause under the Telangana Chief Minister¡¯s Hairtha Nidhi fund.
The key attraction of the urban park would be four large Boab trees that would attract the crowd. Between these four trees would be planted two lakh trees. There will also be picnic spots so that the people of Hyderabad can enjoy the green respite.

Lockdown has been relaxed. However, lakhs of people continue to suffer. Some are struggling for food, others are jobless. Atul Kulkarni had said that COVID-19 will only enhance the existing inequality and disparity in Indian society.
In such trying times, actress Jacqueline Fernandez on the occasion of her birthday adopted two villages, Pathardi and Sakur, of Maharashtra for three years.

Nagarjuna said, "MP Santosh Kumar had launched 'Green India Challenge programme' to change the environment in our state and country to clean our environment. I have participated in the programme and planted several saplings. In the last Big Boss season final programme, I discussed the adoption of forestland issue with Santosh Kumar and declared on the dais that he would adopt forestland."
Appreciating Nagarjuna, Santosh Kumar said, "
No other city has the advantage like Hyderabad as this city has nearly 1.5 lakh acres of forest land around it which will be protected, preserved and developed as part of Green India Challenge."
Earlier, Baahubali fame Prabhas had adopts 1,650 acres of Khazipally Reserve Forest and had laid the foundation stone for an Urban Forest Park. Khazipally reserve forest is known for having quite a number of medicinal plants.
