Pankaj Tripathi's Down To Earth Nature At The Peak Of His Career Wins Over 'Laali' Director
Pankaj Tripathi shot for Laali at the peak of his career and did not throw starry tantrums. This has won over Laali director Abhiroop Basu.
Pankaj Tripathi's humbleness, humility and down-to-earth nature have made him unparalleled to those whose lives he has touched. He is indeed a big star today, but he doesn't like living like one.
While most Bollywood stars go to Maldives or Paris for a vacation, Pankaj Tripathi instead takes some time off to visit his village, cook Litti Chokha and take a bath in a tubewell.
Not just this, even at the peak of his career, he remains to be humble. The Director of the film Laali, Abhiroop Basu recently revealed that Tripathi doesn't have a starry aura around him.
He shot for his film in the absence of any vanity van or spot boys and didn't even complain.
"At the peak of his career, Pankaj Tripathi shot Laali in Calcutta for three days in the absence of any vanity van or spot boys specially dedicated to him or any special kind of arrangement or luxury we usually associate with stars. He ate the food we ate, he went back to his hotel when we did. If a picture could speak a thousand words, here you go.. just an actor sitting on a wooden chair out on the open streets, with his bottle of water.. nonchalantly speaking over the phone, waiting for the next shot," Abhiroop Basu said.
He calls working with Tripathi a life-changing experience.
"No two ways about it, working with him was a life-changing experience for we got a chance to learn way beyond the craft.. we learnt about life and how to keep our feet rooted to the ground always.. and that will teach you about films way more than any film school ever can."

When asked if he felt bad, Tripathi said, "Yes, yes. Indeed. I am a human being, after all, why wouldn¡¯t I feel bad? I felt angry even, but then I try to forget that, as bearing grudges only harms me. So I moved on."
