Celebs and their hypocrisy
However, many even came out in support of Rashmika.
According to News18, one of her fans' argued, ¡°That was an old interview she was vegan then but not now maybe."
¡°Let the girl eat whatever she wants. Clearly, she doesn¡¯t eat junk on a daily basis. We all are humans, not perfect. We all have phases of eating vegetarian food. The entitlement you guys have, my goodness! The fact that you guys think that she owes you, people, an explanation for eating veg or nonveg food. It¡¯s 2023, GROW UP!" another fan defended.
A third asked, ¡°Can you confirm everyone that who acts in the ad. uses the same products? They just act. We need to be mindful."
Actors Who Got Trolled Over Controversial Advertisements
However, Rashmika Mandanna isn't the first celebrity to be trolled over an ad.Earlier, Gangubai Kathiawadi actor Alia Bhatt, Bollywood's Khiladi Akshay Kumar, and KBC fame Amitabh Bachchan are some of the stars from the industry trolled for controversial advertisements.
Alia Bhatt, who is soon going to be seen in her upcoming Hollywood debut 'Heart of Stone' recently got trolled for endorsing a sugar drink.
Two different videos of Alia were shared on social media. In one Alia says she has a problem with sugar while on the other she can be seen promoting the beverage brand.
Akshay Kumar too joined Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan in promoting a pan masala brand, but when he got massively trolled for it, the actor opted out. Amitabh Bachchan's involvement in surrogate advertising also landed him in controversy.
The KBC fame promoted a tobacco-based product, but after receiving flak on social media, he terminated the contract with the brand and also returned the money received for the promotion.
