Ranbir Kapoor Talks About His Hollywood Plans, Says Failure Of His 'Passion Project' Hurt Him
Ranbir Kapoor opens up about his plans on directing and entering Hollywood.
Ranbir Kapoor, who is all set to be seen in the film Animal alongside south actress Rashmika Mandanna, recently attended the Red Sea International Film Festival 2022 where he spoke his heart out about his long-term career goals.
Looks like Ranbir is planning to follow in his baby's mother Alia Bhatt's footsteps.
According to ETimes, the Brahmastra actor has expressed that he always wanted to become a director and make films. While he admitted that he has not mastered the courage to pen a script, he has always waited for a story to come to him naturally.
The actor even revealed that he feels shy to share his ideas with others and that he isn't a writer, but he is working on it. He even shared that he wants to start directing movies and also act in them as part of his 10-year plan.
Speaking of his plans in Hollywood, the actor revealed that he would never say never to projects when he plans to enter the Hollywood industry. He even expressed his satisfaction over the kind of opportunities he has been getting in his language.
He even admitted that he does have a certain block in his head when it comes to acting in English. On the other hand, Ranbir Kapoor's wife Alia Bhatt is making her Hollywood debut with the upcoming movie Heart Of Stone with onscreen Wonder Woman Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan.
Moreover, Ranbir Kapoor opened up about how the failure of his ¡®passion project¡¯ Jagga Jasoos¡¯ hurt him the most. During an interaction, the actor spoke at length about the failure of films in India post the COVID-19 pandemic and how his passion project 'Shamshera' flopped at the box office.
¡°It¡¯s a film that I produced. It was a passion project. It was directed by Anurag Basu. It was a very heartwarming and sweet idea, but it didn¡¯t do well, which really hurt,¡± the Shamshera actor said.
¡°That¡¯s the only film in my career that hurt me," he further told Deadline.
On the professional front, Ranbir, who is often referred as the "chocolate boy of Bollywood" is all set to be next seen in Luv Ranjan¡¯s untitled flick opposite Shraddha Kapoor.
As per reports, the movie is slated to hit theatres during Holi 2023. Ranbir Kapoor also has Sandeep Reddy Vanga¡¯s upcoming movie Animal in his kitty. The movie will release in 2023.
