Oscar-Winning Actor Daniel Day-Lewis Is Ranveer Singh's Inspiration To Do Challenging Roles
After the success of 83, Ranveer Singh says he loves playing challenging roles that make him nervous. His inspiration is Daniel Day-Lewis, the three-time Oscar-winning iconic actor who transforms himself in every movie that he chooses to do.
Everyone who has seen Kabir Khan's 83 has only said that they saw Kapil Dev on the big screen and not Ranveer Singh, the actor, and that's the biggest compliment for him.
Every time Singh has essayed any role on the big screen, he has left the audiences stumped with his versatility. He says he likes challenges. Not that he gets excited, he gets nervous, and he says that this nervous energy is what helps him, here's how!

He shared what he learnt about this special energy from former India cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth. "I learnt from Kris Srikkanth, who I have had the good fortune to spend time with during the '83' movie promotions. He told me its energy - it cannot be created or destroyed, it can be transmitted, transformed. So, I take this nervousness and I channel it into the energy that I use to pursue this path of transformation. It's those challenges that excite me and I embrace them fully".

Ranveer Singh's inspiration is Daniel Day-Lewis, the three-time Oscar-winning iconic actor who transforms himself in every movie that he chooses to do.
"It's my endeavour to create characters that are distinctive and different from each other because growing up as an aspiring actor I felt most fascinated with those actors who are able to show a wide range in their repertoire, who are able to transform themselves, who can be shape-shifters, chameleons like Daniel Day-Lewis. You see one film of one person and see the other film - it's like two different people that used to blow my mind. So I endeavour to be that way, I aspire to be that way."

Earlier, Singh had revealed that he found the bowling style of Kapil Dev the most difficult to learn.
"Bowling was the toughest thing to learn. It took me several months ¡ª his wrist position, his iconic jump, rubbing the ball on the chest before delivering it," he said.
