As Bigg Boss fans, we thought if we could survive Pooja Misshra and Dolly Bindra, we could survive anything. Well, it looks like the show's makers took it as a challenge and then they got together people from different fields to give us a season we had never imagined!

In Salman Khan's popular reality show, that is often targeted for being voyeuristic and controversial not much has changed. The contestants still fight on petty issues, blurring the line between being disgusting or rebellious. Salman Khan has to occasionally put them in their place, with a strong warning.

But wait. This season, that's being touted as one of the most successful seasons of all times is also one of the most talked-about, for numerous reasons. From ex-flames Rashami Desai and Sidharth Shukla's 'Aisi Ladki' fight to Madhurima and Vishal's 'Chappal' fight, this season crossed all levels of absurdity.

While the contestants have been successful in raking in numbers, it's a matter of fact that Salman Khan has time and again expressed his displeasure over their behavior. While we still have a month to go for the season to end, we looked back and tried to dissect how this season, despite being a successful one, remains one of the most regressive and controversial ones. 1. Verbal spats have been a constant, including the worst possible abuses and acid-attack threats.

From hurling worst possible abuses to dragging each other's families into the fight, the contestants have crossed all lines of decency this season. Despite Salman Khan's repeated warnings, none of the contestants have even made an attempt to mend their ways. In one of the fights, everything escalated to an extent that Rashmi and Sidharth threw tea at each other. Arhaan - who was fighting Sidharth for Rashami ¨C was heard saying ¡°Chai nahi seedha acid phekunga iske muh pe (Not tea, I will throw acid on him).¡±

2. The maximum number of wake-up alarm calls for the contestants during the day as contestants only laze around.

For all those who don't know, it's clearly mentioned in the contract of each and every contestant that apart from the lights-off time, they can't sleep or be inactive in any way. However, being one of the most rebellious lot, contestants like Madhurima and Rashami have time and again disrespected Bigg Boss and slept their way to glory whenever they felt like.

3. In a first, Salman Khan had to himself enter the show to wash utensils and clean the house (including the bathrooms).

He may be one of the biggest superstars of the country, but he has always treated Bigg Boss as his own show and it reflects in the way he gets involved. Be it giving contestants a reality check on their bad behavior, or entering the house and cleaning it up himself, it has been one weird season for Salman Khan as well.

4. Contestants keep fat-shaming each other openly

"Moti", "Tu jaisi dikhti hai main tujhe touch bhi na karun" - such language was used inside the house like it was no big deal. While we talk about feminism and equality, the way the contestants have conducted themselves this season only proves that we still have a long way to go. Lack of mutual respect among contestants is one big put off this season.

5. Major fights erupted because of petty issues that included food and kitchen duties

From fighting for the number of rotis that a person eats, to shirking their basic duties of cooking, this season hit a new low with these petty fights. Contestants have hurled abuses at each other because of food and it's disappointing. Salman himself accepted that none of the seasons had similar fights for food and kitchen duties.

6. Forget cat-fights, woman contestants have openly slut-shamed each other and passed nasty remarks

Women have targeted and attacked other women and judged them on the basis of their interaction with male contestants on the show. While Shefali Bagga openly slut-shamed Shehnaaz Gill, Shehnaaz too casually made a remark on how women who smoke tend to get divorced. Are we in 2020 yet? Well, we doubt!

7. Mansplaining - Several male contestants of the house were seen 'shutting down' female contestants for raising their voice or voicing their opinion

It's difficult for a man to deal with a woman who knows how to stand up for herself and contestants like Paras Chhabra and Sidharth Shukla are living proof of this. There have been several incidents where male contestants have asked fellow female contestants to 'shut up' and 'chal hatt', proving that they can't see a woman in power. Thanks to contestants like Shehnaaz Gill and Aarti Singh who have stood up for themselves and tried to knock some sense into these men.

8. This season a contestant openly implied using #MeToo movement in her favor

It took Indian entertainment industry years to finally talk about the #MeToo movement and share their horrid stories of abuse and exploitation, but the scenario looked different in this season of Bigg Boss. During a fight between Sidharth Shukla and Devoleena, the latter was seen casually threatening him with an accusation of #MeToo. While Sid later explained how it was wrong for a woman to play this as a 'card', but we still can't reject the fact that it diluted the meaning of movement for many who were watching the show.

10. The desperate need to find a 'connection' saw many contestants hopping from one person to another for support

Many fans got confused multiple times and wondered if they were watching Bigg Boss or Splitsvilla. With innumerable dramatic romantic angles that were forcibly brought in by the contestants, to proposals inside the house - this season served a lot of unwanted drama to its fans.

11. A proposal, a web of lies and relationship drama we didn't even need

Rashami Desai and Arhaan Khan's love angle inside the house was a difficult pill to swallow, considering all the drama that unfolded. Salman Khan revealed some shocking details about Arhaan's past life to Rashami, and it created the kind of drama that no one wanted! Their repeated conversations about love were labeled as 'fake' by their fans.

12. We saw ex-lovers and partners openly abusing, threatening and physically harming each other

Respect? What's that? There is no mutual respect between the ex-partners, current partners, potential partners and it shows. From flinging 'chappals' at each other, to slapping and hitting each other, there are so many things wrong with this season!

13. Consent? What's that? This season lacked the basic idea of consent
