Robert Downey Jr. Reflects On Bidding Adieu To Marvel Universe With Chris Evans!

Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. ¨C the real faces behind Captain America and Iron Man, respectively ¨C started their journey as MCU¡¯s finest, and today, they share a bond that's too precious!

Not many know, it was Robert Downey Jr. who was who had convinced Chris Evans to accept Marvel¡¯s offer, because apparently, after a string of poorly received superhero-themed films made Evans really unsure and hesitant.

But thanks to the final nudge by Robert, this choice turned out lucky for Evans. Now, as they make a glorious exit from the cinematic universe of MCU that gave them fame, love, and popularity, it's time to move on for both the actors.

The actors will now dip their feet in different projects. While RDJ has opted for projects including The Voyage of Dr. Dolittle and Sherlock Homles 3, Evans will star in Knives Out and Jekyll.

Marvel's Avengers: Endgame marked the conclusion for both Iron Man aka Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) and Captain America aka Steve Rogers (Chris Evans). In his recent interview, Robert Downey Jr pondered over his and Evans' journey and how important it was for them to say goodbye to their characters. He added,

"We had to get off. We opted to and knew it was part of the job to get off the bus while it rolled on to other destinations," Digital Spy quoted the actor as saying. "There's something very sobering about it. I'm glad he and I will be there to welcome others as they retire their jerseys."

He added that he's "loathe" to talk about his "legacy" and making his mark, especially when it's in comparison to Evans and Hulk star Mark Ruffalo. He added,

"I really don't need to look any farther than my co-stars. Mark Ruffalo is an activist, Chris Evans is a diehard American and proponent of true democracy. I don't really have the gumption, the skill set, the drive, or the humility either of those guys does."

Downey Jr. began his journey in MCU as Tony Stark in 2008 with the first Iron Man movie. This only began a journey that lasted for 10 years, spanning over 22 films.
