Russo Brothers share Varun Dhawan's first look from Citadel spy universe.
After months of speculations and rumours doing rounds on social media, Russo Brothers have finally unveiled the first look of the lead actor from their Indian installment of the sci-fi series Citadel, and it's none other than Bollywood star Varun Dhawan.
The actor is all set to portray the lead role in the upcoming OTT spy series Citadel, the filming of which will begin in January 2023.

Sharing Varun Dhawan's first look from Citadel, the Russo Brothers, best known for their Avengers movies, wrote on their Instagram post, "We are thrilled to officially announce that we will be bringing you the Indian installment of the Citadel universe. The local Original spy series will start filming in January 2023."
The Hollywood film producers also tagged directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, who are collaborating with them on the film for production. Sita R Menon is penning the series in collaboration with Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK.

Gaurav Gandhi, the vice president of Prime Video India also opened up about the series and said that the team is excited to start production on the Indian version of the spy series 'Citadel'.
"With this project, we are building on our mission of borderless entertainment to produce local Original content that can be enjoyed by audiences across the world. Citadel is a truly global franchise, with local productions, across countries, that build back to an inter-connected storyline-a first-of-its-kind innovation in storytelling," Gaurav Gandhi stated in a release as per ETimes.

On the other hand, Varun Shawa has also shared his excitement over his new project with the famous Russo brothers.
According to media outlet, the actor said, ¡°Citadel is an exceptionally ambitious and exciting franchise, and to be part of this magnificent universe, conceptualised by the Russo Brothers¡¯ AGBO and Jennifer Salke, is a landmark moment in my career. I have been a big fan of their work and I am beyond thrilled to be a part of this project, and can¡¯t wait to start shooting it. The storyline of the Indian Citadel chapter is fantastic, and when you have creators like Raj & DK on board, one can be certain that a spectacle is in the making."
Varun Dhawan was most recently seen in 'Bhediya' and Citadel will mark his debut in OTT.
