Last Rites Of Veteran Kannada Actor S Shivaram To Be Done With Full State Honours
Fondly called Shivaramanna, S Shivaram' last rite will be performed with full state honours, state Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said.
Having worked for over six decades, S Shivaram has left a mark in the industry that many generations will remember. The news of his passing has left a void in the hearts of his colleagues, fans and family.
Fondly called Shivaramanna, the actor-filmmaker was hospitalised after collapsing at his residence in Bengaluru on Tuesday night. He passed away as a result of a brain hemorrhage on Dec 4. He was 83.

The last rites of the veteran star would be performed with full state honours, state Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.
"Shivaram has carved a niche for himself in the world of art. He had breathed life into every character he played as an actor. Most of his movies notched big success," he was quoted as saying by ANI.

"He had bagged the national award as the producer of 'Upasane'. He had close association with reputed directors like Puttannakanagal. His life was not confined to the film industry. He had a strong connect with spirituality too," he added.

Former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa also mourned his death and tweeted, ¡°I am deeply saddened by the news that the veteran actor of Kannada cinema is no more. He was also a director and producer. He had also acted in several television serials."

Born on January 28, 1938, in a Tamil Brahmin family, Shivaram proved his versatility by playing different roles ranging from hero to supporting character in over 60 movies, besides directing and producing films.
His contribution to the Kannada film industry was immense. Some of his best films are Sharapanjara, Shubhamangala and Nagarahavu directed by Puttanna Kanagal.
