Sai Pallavi's Kashmiri Pandit Exodus Remarks: Bajrang Dal Files FIR, Threatens, Demands Apology
An FIR against actress Sai Pallavi has been filed by Bajrang Dal for her recent remarks on Kashmiri Pandit exodus and cow vigilantism.
South's popular actress Sai Pallavi has made headlines for her recent remarks on Kashmiri Pandit Exodus and cow vigilantism. The actress has ignited a heated debate over her statement on the lynching of alleged cow smuggler during an interview that has landed her in a soup.
According to reports, Hindu nationalist militant group Bajrang Dal has filed an FIR against Sai Pallavi and asked her to apologise for her controversial comments. This comes after the actress equated the Kashmiri Pandit Exodus in the early 90s featured in the movie The Kashmir Files to cow vigilantism.
How the Controversy Started?
It all started when, during an interview for the promotions of her new film Virata Parvam, Sai Pallavi, who claims to have rather a neutral opinion about the same stated, ¡°The film The Kashmir Files depicts the assassination of Kashmiri Pandits. A man was recently slain for carrying a cow because he was suspected of being a Muslim. The perpetrators shouted ¡®Jai Shri Ram¡¯ after killing the victim. Where is the line drawn between what occurred in Kashmir and what occurred recently?¡±

"In spite of being subject to mass killings & exodus, Kashmiri Pandits never played the victim card. That¡¯s why Sai Pallavi cannot differentiate between the unfortunate killing of one man and the catastrophic genocide of an entire community," a user wrote on Twitter.

There is a huge difference in a random Muslim being beaten & an entire community being uprooted.
Please don't trivialise my pain.
Come & see any of our broken homes & hearts. We are witnesses to Genocide but await justice.
