Vivek Agnihotri Reacts After Naseeruddin Shah Called The Kashmir Files A 'Fictionalised' Story
Talking about The Kashmir Files, Naseeruddin Shah told NDTV that the film was almost fictionalised. Here's how the director Vivek Agnihotri has responded.
It has been months since Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files had been released and the film continues to make headlines. The discussions on whether the film had fictionalised elements or did it portray a true picture are still ongoing.
Reigniting the debate, Naseeruddin Shah recently said that the movie was an almost fictionalised version of the suffering of Kashmiri Hindus.
When asked about The Kashmir Files, Naseeruddin Shah told NDTV, " They want to be on the winning side". He even said that the government was promoting the movie rather than ensuring security and rehabilitation for the community.
He added, "You talk about genocide and you get a slap on the wrist. There are double standards working here."
Sharing the clip where Naseeruddin Shah talks about being slapped on the wrist if you talk about genocide, Vivek Agnihotri wrote, "I agree with this. You are indeed abused and penalised for talking about Kashmiri Hindu Genocide in your own country".
I agree with this.

Naseeruddin Shah also commented on the Prophet Mohammed row.
For the unversed, India has been facing backlash from over 15 countries after BJP leader Nupur Sharma made an offensive remark about Prophet Mohammed. Talking about it, Shah said, "It's hardly meant to assuage hurt feelings. I wouldn't be surprised if such a hate speech occurs again. It's ironic you talk of peace and unity, you get locked up in jail for more than a year. You talk of genocide and you get a slap on the wrist. There are double standards working here."

He also commented on why the three Khans of Bollywood maintain silence on political affairs.
He said, "I cannot speak for them. I am not in the position they are in. I feel they think they would be risking too much. But then, I don¡¯t know how they explain to their own conscience about it. But I think they are in a position where they have too much to lose."
Naseeruddin Shah also praised Shah Rukh Khan for handling media scrutiny during Aryan Khan's arrest with grace and dignity.
"What happened to Shah Rukh Khan and the dignity with which he faced it was admirable. It was nothing but a witch-hunt. He has kept his mouth shut. All he did was support Trinamool and applaud Mamata Banerjee. Sonu Sood gets raided. Anyone who makes any statement gets a response. Maybe I am next. I don¡¯t know. (laughs) Though they won¡¯t find anything", he said.
