Shreyas Talpade Reacts To 'Brahmastra' Star Alia Bhatt's 'Don¡¯t Like Me, Don¡¯t Watch Me' Remark
Actor Shreyas Talpade has reacted to Alia Bhatt's comment on the 'boycott Bollywood trend.'
As Bollywood continues to face criticism and boycott calls, many celebrities like Vivek Agnihotri, Taapsee Pannu, Anupam Kher, and Swara Bhaskar among others have voiced their opinions on the boycott Bollywood trend on social media.
Even Brahmastra star Alia Bhatt did not hesitate to share her take on the ongoing boycott trend that has become one of the most talked about topics in the world of entertainment for the past few weeks. The actress got entangled in controversy owing to her controversial statements.
Alia Bhatt had said, ¡°I will not always defend the protest. People who don¡¯t like me don¡¯t watch my film. I can¡¯t do anything for this,¡± ahead of the release of her latest movie Brahmastra.
Now, reacting to what mom-to-be Alia Bhatt had earlier stated, Golmaal actor Shreyas Talpade has expressed that it is wrong for celebrities to make such arrogant statements as an actor exists only till the audience likes them.
"It is very wrong to say that if you do not like me just do not watch my movies. This way you will end up alienating yourself from the audience. An actor exists only till the audience likes him," Shreyas Talpade told News18 Lokmat recently during a special program on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
During the event, the actor was also asked what would he wish from Lord Ganpati this year, when he apparently took a dig at actress Alia Bhatt. He said that he would wish Lord Ganesha to give wisdom to those Bollywood celebs who are giving arrogant remarks over the ¡®boycott Bollywood trend¡¯.
"Right now, I don¡¯t appreciate the statements coming from the Bollywood industry regarding the boycott calls," the actor said.
On the work front, Shreyas Talpade is all set to be seen in Kangana Ranaut's Emergency - a film based on Indira Gandhi.
The actor will be playing former Prime Minister Of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee onscreen. The actor was last seen in the Hindi-language sports drama Kaun Pravin Tambe, directed by Jayprad Desai.
