SRK Shares Why Declaring His Yet-To-Be-Released Movie Like 'Pathaan' A Hit Is Not 'Arrogance'
Shah Rukh Khan shares why declaring his yet-to-be-released movie like 'Pathaan' a hit is not being arrogant.
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who recently celebrated his 57th birthday, flew to the United Arab Emirates to attend the 41st Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) at Expo Centre this year.
The actor, who is all set to be back on the big screen with a full-fledged feature film 'Pathaan,' also received the Global Icon of Cinema and Cultural Narrative award at the international event. SRK's video from the big event has surfaced on the internet and it shows the actor speaking about his upcoming Bollywood movies.
Shah Rukh, who is often called the King of Bollywood, spoke to journalist Faye D¡¯Souza, who asked him if he was nervous about the release of his upcoming films.
"I don't think I need to be nervous. They (films) all are going to be superhit films. I would like to explain the lack of arrogance in this statement--that's the belief I sleep with and wake up with. That is the belief that makes me, at the age of 57, go do stunts, jump, work 18 hours a day. Because if I did not have the belief, at the end of it all, I am doing to make a great product lots of people are going to like, I would not be able to do it," Shah Rukh Khan told the journalist at the event.
The Ra-One actor said that he might sound arrogant but people think he is "pompous" because of his honesty.
"This is not an arrogant statement this is what I believe as I sit there. I am not nervous. I think they are wonderful films. it's a child-like belief, that look ¡®I have done my best, prepare my best. I am going to pass with flying colours¡¯," SRK added during the interview.
He also gave examples of how as a young kid he used to be satisfied with his result despite scoring a 3 out of 100.
"When I was a young kid, I remember acing my mathematics exam. I did very well and in result, I got 3 out of 100. But, I thought I really did well. Sometimes that happens with movies also. I do make a Zero, sometimes what I put in comes to effort and for, and it becomes Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,¡± he said.
Shah Rukh went through a drastic physical transformation for his upcoming Hindi movie Pathaan and the actor himself is excited "to see Shah Rukh Khan onscreen again."
Pathaan, which also stars John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, is slated to hit theatres on January 25, 2023. SRK will be seen as a RAW agent while John will be the main villain in the movie.
