Sushant Singh Rajput Case: Delhi Cop Who Probed Drug Case Awarded 'Medal For Excellence In Investigation'
KPS Malhotra headed the SIT probe in the drugs case related to actor Sushant Singh Rajput who reportedly died by suicide on June 14th, 2020.
On Thursday, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) awarded 'Union Home Minister's Medal for Excellence in Investigation 2021' to a Delhi cop.
KPS Malhotra headed the SIT probe in the drugs case related to actor Sushant Singh Rajput who reportedly died by suicide on June 14th, 2020.
Malhotra is currently working as DCP, CP Secretariat in Delhi. He has worked in the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

MHA has awarded ¡°Union Home Minister¡¯s Medal for Excellence in Investigation¡± 2021 to six Delhi Police personnel - Insp Satish Chander Sharma (Posthumously), Sandeep Lamba, ACP, W/Insp Domnica Purty, Insp Amaleshwar Kumar Rai, Insp Gurmeet Singh Kataria and Insp Virender Singh.

According to reports, the Home Minister also awarded the medals to six Delhi Police personnel - Inspector Satish Chander Sharma (Posthumously), ACP Sandeep Lamba, Women Inspector Domnica Purty, Inspector Inspector Inspector Amaleshwar Kumar Rai, Inspector Gurmeet Singh Kataria, and Inspector Virender Singh.
The award was established in 2018, and it aims to encourage high standards in crime investigations and recognize the 'Excellence in Investigation' delivered by police personnel at work.
A special NDPS court denied bail to SSR's flatmate, Siddharth Pithani, who was arrested by the NCB in May this year from Hyderabad.
