Nevertheless, Tanmay Bhat¡ªwho was formerly the CEO of the comedy group AIB and a YouTuber¡ªclaimed that the reported amount was "wildly off the mark" on social media platform X, formerly Twitter. The indicated amount was really high, he emphasized.

Tanmay Bhat Controversy And His Fall From AIB
In 2016, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena filed a formal complaint against Tanmay Bhat due to a video that imitated Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar. The video, which received a lot of backlash on social media, was considered disrespectful to the well-known figures. After the event, Google and YouTube were asked to take down the contentious video by Mumbai Police.

In 2018, Tanmay Bhat's tenure as CEO of AIB was halted because of the MeToo controversy involving Mahima Kukreja and Utsav Chakraborty. Mahima accused Utsav, an AIB employee, of using social media to send her and other women explicit pictures and messages.
Bhat went on to clarify on another social media post, which he later deleted, saying it was unrealistic to make ? 665 crore just from posting memes.

As per News18, Several months later, AIB announced that Tanmay was no longer suspended but removed from his CEO position. He was also subsequently removed from the judge panel of Comicstaan season 2.
Addressing this, he wrote on Instagram, ¡°After everything that happened in October, I¡¯m mentally checked out. I feel almost paralyzed and unable to participate socially, online or even offline. A big part of my self-worth growing up as someone who looked like me became my work,¡± he wrote.
