While speaking to the media outlet, the actress shared that she lost her father to cancer last year, but had to stay strong for her mother, her daughter, and everything else that was going on.
Talking about her own diagnosis, she said that when she first found out, she asked herself, ¡°Why me?¡± and was left devastated.
How breast cancer has affected Tannishtha Chatterjee
Tannishtha Chatterjee revealed that the support of friends, along with spirituality and yoga, has been instrumental in helping her navigate this difficult phase. Despite the advanced stage of her illness, she shared that her doctors have instilled hope in her recovery. Having undergone six rounds of chemotherapy, she admitted that the physical side effects such as severe hair fall, weight loss, and thinning eyebrows have been emotionally challenging, even though she doesn¡¯t consider herself vain.

Sharib Hashmi, whose wife survived oral cancer, paid a visit to Tannishtha Chatterjee at the hospital. During their heartfelt exchange, they came up with the idea to collaborate on a live performance focused on spreading cancer awareness.
Tannishtha has found unwavering support in her close circle of friends, which includes Shabana Azmi, Richa Chadha, Konkona Sensharma, Vidya Balan, Divya Dutta, Urmila Matondkar, and Dia Mirza all of whom have stood by her through the toughest times.
