'Thought Dad's Busy': Aamir Khan's Daughter Ira Khan Says Communication With Mom Was Easier
Ira Khan talked about a complex relationship with her parents. She said that she thought her father Aamir Khan was always busy and hence communication with mother Reena Dutta was easier.
Ira Khan is one of the celebrities who is an open advocate for mental health. Aamir Khan's daughter who has herself been a victim of it has always made it a point to talk about her struggles and normalise conversation on anxiety and depression. She once revealed that her mental health disorder was partially genetic.

In a recent conversation, she talked about a complex relationship with her parents.
"My relationship with both my parents is something that I¡¯ve had to actively work on a lot. Because the relationship with your parents is the most intense relationship you will ever have. It¡¯s the most complicated relationship you ever have, because you care the most about what they say. So it will trigger you the most. And it¡¯ll also make you the happiest. It is both ways."
She said that communication with her mother was slightly easier as in her head she would always think that her father was busy, despite him telling her that she could call her anytime.
Years later, she said things have changed as now she feels her mother is busy with her parents and she can easily reach out to her father.
Amit Khan had previously revealed that at one point in his life he decided to quit acting to spend more time with kids. This happened when he realised that while chasing his dreams, he couldn't spend time with his family.
"My daughter is now 23. I am sure she must have missed my presence in her life when she was younger. She will have had her own anxieties, fears, dreams and hopes. I wasn¡¯t there for her, I know this now."
However, both his children and ex-wife Kiran Rao convinced him to continue acting.
After the release of Laal Singh Chadha, Aamir announced a break from acting. He, however, will continue making movies like before. He is working on Lahore: 1947, a film in which Sunny Deol will play the lead role.
For the unversed, Ira Khan is the daughter of Aamir and his wife Reena Dutta. She had once said she wasn't too affected by her parent's divorce but she felt sad for a year and a half. She would cry for eight hours and sleep for 10. She didn't get to know when she walked into depression until her mother recognized her symptoms.
