The State funeral for the late singer was organized on Sunday in Mumbai, her hometown, with several government officials, celebrities from the film fraternity, and her family members in attendance.

Apart from celebrities and politicians showing up for beloved Lata Didi, the funeral venue was flooded with fans and common people who showed up one last time.
Lata Mangeshkar, known as the 'Nightingale of India,' had sung in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, and other regional languages.
The voice behind female actresses spread across several decades was honored with the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Dadasaheb Phalke Award. She had also won several National and Filmfare Awards. Lata Mangeshkar's last complete album was for the 2004 Bollywood release Veer-Zaara.
After her father, Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar's death in 1942, Lata became a supporting pillar for her family.
Lata Mangeshkar got her first significant Bollywood break with Dil Mera Toda from the 1948 film Majboor. But it was her song Aayega Aanewaala from the movie Mahal (1949) that became her first major hit.
Well, a body dies, but Lata Mangeshkar's music, her legacy, and the impact she left on millions of people will stay for generations to come.
