'We Expected A Bit Of Drama But We'll Fight', Vijay Deverakonda Reacts On #BoycottLiger Trend
Vijay Deverakonda says he is a fighter and isn't afraid of the boycott trend. He added that every film has been a tough fight for him. He said, Kaun rokenge dekh lenge.
One after the other, Bollywood films are getting boycotted on Twitter. The recent one to become a victim of this trend is Vijay Deverakonda-Ananya Panday-starrer Liger. Even before its release, people are calling for a boycott of the film because of its association with Karan Johar and Deverakonda's comments about the ongoing Laal Singh Chaddha controversy.
When Deverakonda was asked about the same, he said that every film has been a fight for him. Calling himself a fighter, he said, "Kaun rokege dekh lenge".
I support #BoycottLigerMovie yes let me reiterate that I support Boycott of #Liger movie because of the direct and indirect connection of people from the Bollywood like Karan Johar, Salman Khan and Ananya Pandey. Also, because I support #BoycottBollywood (forever and everywhere). pic.twitter.com/gaIGGVGRfg

"I don't know much, and talking about my own experience, and my thoughts...I believe that life has taught me to be a fighter. When I was younger I had to fight for respect and money...later I had to fight for my place in the industry and even to get work. Every film was like a tough fight for me."

Deverakonda has faced many hurdles in the past. When he couldn't find producers for his first film, he did it for free. He says he is a fighter and not afraid of the hurdles anymore.
Anybody trying to grow in their field

"When I was doing my first film, we couldn't find a producer to bankroll it, so I did the film for free, we had to raise money to cover production expenses. At that point, I was nobody in the industry. When my third film 'Arjun Reddy' was about to be out, we faced protest before it even hit the theatres. But it turned out to be a hit at the box office and now people know me because of my work in the film. Even after that, another film of mine leaked online before it hit the theatres but when it did, I got a lot of love," he was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
Talking about Liger and the boycott calls against the film, he said the team was expecting some drama.
"With Liger we expected a bit of drama... but we'll fight. We've put our heart into making this film. And I believe that I am correct. I feel that there is no room for fear, when I had nothing, I didn't fear, and now after having achieved something, I don't think there needs to be any fear even now."
He concluded by saying, "Maa ka aashirwaad hai, Logon ka pyaar hai, Bhagwaan ka haath hai, andar aag hai, Kaun rokenge dekh lenge!"
