During the lockdown, he became a national hero after he helped innumerable people, especially the migrant workers.
Not many people know that Sonu Sood came to Mumbai with Rs 5500 in his pocket. While he thought the money would last at least a month, it got over in just 10 days. Here's how Sood survived in the city of dreams.
"I thought I will now have to ask my parents for money. I always thought I will manage on my own, but that seemed impossible at that point in time. But then, I got shoot for Rs 2000-3000 per day, and that's how I survived," Sonu Sood told Pinkvilla as he shared his story.
Sonu Sood had earlier said in an interview that his own struggle is what prompts him to help the needy.
"When I came to Mumbai, I came on a train and had no reservation. When I was doing my engineering in Nagpur, I used to travel in buses and trains without reservation. When I saw those migrants walking on roads, with their kids, and elders, those were the most disturbing visuals of my life. I decided I am not going to sit at home and crib about it".
