Chhaava Box Office Collection Day 4: Vicky Kaushal¡¯s latest cinematic outing opened to huge numbers at the box office and just when it was emerging as this year¡¯s biggest grosser, its numbers started to fall a bit. On its fourth day, the Laxman Utekar directorial saw a drastic drop of 50% but considering there¡¯s no other film in competition, Chhaava might pick up soon.

On Day 4 (February 17), Chhaava earned Rs 24 crore, a massive dip from its Day 3 collections which was Rs 48.5 crore. With an overseas collection of Rs 27 crore and a domestic gross of Rs 168.6 crore, the worldwide total of Chhaava currently stands at Rs 195.6 crore. With positive reviews and good word of mouth, the film is eyeing a lifetime collection of at least Rs 500 crore if the momentum accelerates.
Chhaava¡¯s plot summary
An adaptation of the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant, the plot chronicles how after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's death, his son Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj takes charge and leads the Marathas in fighting against the Mughal Empire. Despite internal betrayal and Aurangzeb¡¯s massive military campaign, Sambhaji used guerrilla tactics to challenge the Mughals.
Eventually, he is captured, and tortured, but refuses to surrender. His defiance inspired continued resistance, and after his death, the Marathas eventually defeated the Mughals, leading to India's rise to self-governance (Swaraj).

Produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Chhaava also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, Diana Penty, Divya Dutta, Vineet Kumar Singh, Santosh Juvekar, Alok Nath, Kiran Karmarkar and Suvrat Joshi among others. This AR Rahman musical is cinematographed by Saurabh Goswami and edited by Manish Pradhan.
