According to a video doing the rounds, Hasan Minhaj talked to a media coordinator on loudspeaker via his mobile phone. In the call, he is enquiring about his credentials for the event.
¡°We're just trying to get our credentials,¡± Hasan said.
¡°There are no credentials,¡± the coordinator replied.
¡°But our credentials are right here,¡± Minhaj told him and added, ¡°But you told me we were denied because of the jokes.¡±
¡°No, I didn't say you were denied because of the jokes,¡± replied the coordinator.
"But some people were not happy,¡± said Minhaj.
To this, the coordinator replied, ¡°Yeah, some people were not happy, but that doesn't matter to me much. The reason I can't get you in is due to the lack of space for broadcast crews."
An Islamophobic attack on press in 3 acts: Muslim journalist and @patriotact host @hasanminhaj was denied access at Tump/Modi event. Event producers cite lack of credentials (despite credentials set for him), cite lack of space for broadcast (press pool & camera risers 1/2 empty) pic.twitter.com/4mvjwLrFGy

Here¡¯s how people reacted!
Indian-American comedian Hasan Minhaj was refused entry to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally held at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on Sunday.

Why?
Because he roasts Modi...!
How is it Islamophobic? The event was for Modi supporters which Hasan Minhaj is not. He had every right to protest outside with other protesters.

Of course Pakistani journalists would not be allowed - not due to their religion but due to their nationality.
Here to celebrate two great nations coming together. India first. But America first too. #HowdyModi pic.twitter.com/tqlGCOKI70

So @hasanminhaj is denied entry at #HowdyModi while twitterati were so ready to ridicule him for his sarcastic tweet earlier. Yes, we do have sane, bipartisan people in this world as well! Also, @Dawn_News correspondent @mariakari1414

also denied credentials. Such pettiness!
Neither the coordinator nor Hasan Minhaj has yet clarified whether he and his crew were allowed the enter the venue. He, however, posted a picture in which he could be seen standing in front of the venue.
Bravo, right slap for Anti Indian drama recently done by him. ...
