Angelina Jolie ready to call a truce with Brad Pitt? Actress closes major legal chapter in battle against former husband?
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may have aired their dirty laundry in public in the past, but they are now making a concession. After Pitt expressed he wishes to reconnect with his children, his former wife Jolie has now taken a significant step towards making peace.
Angelina Jolie is seemingly making peace with her former husband Brad Pitt, years after the duo¡¯s ugly split. In a significant move, Jolie recently closed a legal chapter with the United States Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), linked to her ongoing tussle with Pitt. Her recent activity comes amid reports suggesting Pitt wants to call a truce with his former wife to keep his children close.
Angelina Jolie drops legal chapter linked to ex Brad Pitt
According to an In Touch Weekly report, Jolie, who had filed the case under her pseudonym Jane Doe, dropped the lawsuit on Wednesday (September 25). She filed the lawsuit in relation to Pitt's public records. The filing of the case, as quoted by the publication, read, ¡°The parties to this action hereby stipulate to dismiss this action with prejudice, with each party to bear its own fees and costs."
The ¡®Eternals¡¯ star had filed the case under the Freedom of Information Act request with the FBI in 2022. She had sought records related to the FBI's investigation into the ¡®Bullet Train¡¯ star, particularly the infamous private plane drama. The incident reportedly took place on September 14, 2016, when the then Jolie-Pitt family were aboard a private plane. The altercation, which Jolie has also chronicled during their split, began ahead of the takeoff between Pitt and their oldest son, Maddox. The actor then lost his calm and was physically abusive towards Jolie, which left two of their six children frightened. He reportedly "grabbed her by her head, shaking her, followed by grabbing her at the shoulders and shaking her.¡±.
Pitt¡¯s attempt at reconciliation
Despite their tumultuous past, the former couple has hinted at a potential reconciliation. While Jolie has now ended one of their many legal battles, it was ¡®Once Upon a Hollywood¡¯ star who made the first move earlier this year. There's no question his relationship with his children has been frayed for years, but the Hollywood heartthrob was in a devastated state after his children¡ªZarah, Shiloh, and Vivienne¡ªdropped 'Pitt' from their names. To get through to them, "Brad was ready to make amends with their mom," an insider told In Touch, before adding, "Brad knows he can't force the issue and he can¡¯t make his children want to see him." "It has to be on their terms, but he'll be there when they're ready."
