After Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter, left-leaning celebrities have threatened to quit Twitter and have thrown shade at Musk for the same. While some of them wondered if Musk would reinstate former President Donald Trump's suspended account, others wanted to know if he would introduce an edit button.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings actor Simu Liu asked, "Was there nothing better to do with 44 billion dollars?"

Jameela Jamil announced that she is quitting Twitter because his 'free speech bid' would end in 'lawless hate, bigotry and misogyny'.
Ah he got twitter. I would like this to be my what lies here as my last tweet. Just really *any* excuse to show pics of Barold. I fear this free speech bid is going to help this hell platform reach its final form of totally lawless hate, bigotry, and misogyny. Best of luck. ?? pic.twitter.com/fBDOuEYI3e

This comes after Musk had tweeted, "Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated".
"I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans."
The eldest member of the Jonas Brothers, Kevin Jonas, who is also Priyanka Chopra¡¯s brother-in-law, asked, ¡°Will we now get the edit tweet option?¡±

Actor-filmmaker Rob Reiner also had serious concerns. "Now that Elon Musk is buying Twitter, the question for all of us is: Will he allow a Criminal who used this platform to lie and spread disinformation to try to overthrow the US Government to return and continue his Criminal activity? And if he does, how do we combat it?", he asked.

Asked during a recent TED talk if there are any limits to his notion of "free speech," Musk said Twitter or any forum is "obviously bound by the laws of the country that it operates in. So obviously there are some limitations on free speech in the US, and, of course, Twitter would have to abide by those rules."
Beyond that, though, he said he¡¯d be "very reluctant" to delete things and in general be cautious about permanent bans.
It won¡¯t be perfect, Musk added, "but I think we want it to really have the perception and reality that speech is as free as reasonably possible."
