In the Vatican's hallways, surrounded by influential religious figures, he soon unearths a trail of dark secrets that have the potential to upend the Roman Catholic Church itself.
Meet the cast and crew
Based on Robert Harris' 2016 novel, it is a political thriller film that was written and directed by Peter Straughan and Edward Berger. Starring in the movie are Isabella Rossellini, John Lithgow, Sergio Castellitto, Ralph Fiennes, and Stanley Tucci. Conclave debuted at the 51st Telluride Film Festival on August 30, 2024, and was distributed by Focus Features on October 25 in the US and Black Bear UK on November 29 in the UK.
On a production budget of $20 million, the movie has made $98.5 million worldwide. Production started in Rome in January 2023. It was also filmed in Cinecitt¨¤ and the shoot was finished in March.
