Despite Asking Johnny Depp To Step Down, Here's Why Warner Bros Will Have To Pay Him $10 Million
It seems justice is finally here! It is being reported that Depp filmed only one scene for Fantastic Beasts 3 since production began on September 20th, but he will receive his full salary - which comes it at over $10 million - due to the actor's contract.
A week ago, Warner Bros the studio that produces ¡®Fantastic Beasts¡¯ forced its talent- one of the biggest celebrities in the world, Johnny Depp to quit after he lost his libel case to a British tabloid that called him a 'wife-beater'.
While Depp gracefully accepted the request, fans worldwide were quick to show their displeasure at this decision. Angry fans demanded justice for Johnny Depp and how it's not acceptable for Warner Bros to take such an action on the basis of whatever he is going through in his personal life.

But it seems justice is finally here! It is being reported that Depp filmed only one scene for Fantastic Beasts 3 since production began on September 20th, but he will receive his full salary - which comes it at over $10 million - due to the actor's contract.
This is because Johnny Depp's contract clearly outlines that he must be paid his full salary regardless of the film not getting made or if his role is re-cast. This type of contract commonly known as pay-or-play is common for big Hollywood stars.
Since the contract has been signed by both parties, there is very little Warner Bros. can do. They would have to pay Depp as well as pay the fee for the actor who would replace him as the casting would have to be done for the character of Grindelwald for Fantastic Beasts 3.
Warner Bros will be paying an advanced cost not just in terms of millions of dollars but some fans are pledging to not watch the film if the studio releases it without Johnny Depp.
Who said karma doesn't exist?
