Internet slams Meghan Markle for delaying Netflix series over LA Wildfires, calling it a self-serving move: 'Nice try, Meghan'
Meghan Markle's Netflix series, 'With Love, Meghan', has been delayed from its January 15 premiere to March 4 due to the ongoing California wildfires. While the official reason is to respect the disaster, critics suspect the postponement may also be due to Markle's desire to avoid being overshadowed by current events.
Amid the ongoing devastation from wildfires that have left parts of California resembling a war zone, Meghan Markle's new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, has been pushed back. Initially scheduled for a January 15 release, the series will now debut on March 4. The decision was made to show respect for those impacted by the disaster. However, some on the internet are questioning the real motive behind the delay, suggesting it might be more about benefiting Markle herself.
As reported by the New York Times, Meghan Markle personally requested the delay of her new series With Love, Meghan¡ªa show that celebrates the beauty of Southern California.
The series, which showcases Markle cooking for a variety of friends like Mindy Kaling and her former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, was originally set to premiere on January 15.
Produced by Archewell Productions, a company co-owned by Markle and Prince Harry, the series will now debut on March 4.
While the official reason for the postponement is to show respect for the ongoing wildfires, many on the internet remain skeptical.
Critics are pointing to Markle's past decisions, such as not postponing her Oprah interview when Prince Philip - Prince Harry's grandfather - was critically ill, and suggesting that the real motive behind the delay may be Markle's concern about being overshadowed by current events.
