Kaaranvir Bohra Is Glad To Be Out Of Lock Upp, Says It's For People 'Who Have Nothing To Lose'
Kaaranvir Bohra said that Lock Upp will cost all the contestants their mental peace and that he is glad to finally be out of it.
Alt Balaji and MX Player's Lock Upp turned out to be an immensely popular show making headlines every day. The show is expected to air its final episode in the second week of May with one celeb emerging as the winner.
Kaaranvir Bohra, who recently got eliminated from the show, shared his experience of being a part of it during an Instagram live session. His wife, Teejay, was also a part of the session.
Kaaranvir said that the show was going to cost all the contestants their mental peace and that he is glad to finally be out of it. The actor said that even though he tried to be 'as badass as he could', he could never lose his dignity for the game.
"I am really glad that I am out of this show. It reached a point where I couldn't do it. A lot of physical violence happening towards women. I am completely against that and I had to take a stand. There's a lot of abusive language, I have a family and a life outside. I cannot take this. If you have nothing to lose, the show is great for you. I have a lot at stake. I tried to be as badass as I could but I couldn't lose my dignity and play the game."
Kaaranvir's wife, Teejay, supported her husband's statement and said that the show is getting 'ugly and nasty'.
She added, "If you don't swear, push, shove, fight and throw punches, then you are not being badass. If you throw too many punches, they show you the door. Contestants are getting confused now. What are they supposed to do? How do they give content? It was entertaining before. You guys talked about interesting things. There were good bonds and alliances. Now it's not."
Kaaranvir, further elaborating on the fact how Lock Upp is for people who got nothing to lose, said, "This world is there for winning. They will do anything. People will kill, murder, put their izzat at stake to win. But sorry, we have a family. We have work to look forward to. I have made a name for myself in the industry for the past 20-22 years. I don't want to let it go for the game. People who have nothing to lose, the show is for them."
Kaaranvir and Teejay got married in November 2006. The couple has three lovely daughters named Gia, Bella and Vienna. In one of the episodes, Kaaranvir was seen breaking down while thinking about his daughters.
In an episode, he had also revealed how he and his wife Teejay suffered a miscarriage before their youngest, Gia, was born. He added, "We were so scared to not tell anyone about it because we didn¡¯t want people to say ¡®Arre yaar ye kya hogaya, kaise hogaya, kyu hogaya¡¯. Maybe to protect ourselves we didn¡¯t want to say. We had to lie to our own family, to our own relatives.¡±
Kaaranvir was evicted from the show for the first time in March. He had then re-entered the show as a wild card contestant. Lock Upp is hosted by Kangana Ranaut and premiered on February 3 this year.
