'No loud sensual audio of women, no Modi ji': CBFC's cuts in Mere Husband Ki Biwi before release
This movie faced last-minute censor cuts before its release, with CBFC altering dialogues and toning down a suggestive audio scene. The film, a comedy about love and misunderstandings, hits theatres on February 21.

The CBFC has spoken¡ªno loud moaning and no Modi ji, among other things! Ahead of its release, Mere Husband Ki Biwi, starring Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, and Bhumi Pednekar, has run into a censor board speed bump. Set to hit theatres on February 21, this fun-filled take on modern relationships was handed four cuts before getting the green light.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) reportedly asked for one visual cut and three dialogue modifications before clearing Mere Husband Ki Biwi.
The changes included replacing a specific hand gesture, swapping "Haryanvi" with "Ek gang," and changing "Modi ji" to "The Government."
Additionally, the CBFC instructed the filmmakers to reduce the volume of a "sensual audio of a woman" by 50%, as per Bollywood Hungama.
This change was made to a scene in which Rakul Preet Singh's character moans loudly while Arjun Kapoor's character kisses her neck, meant to trigger jealousy in Bhumi Pednekar's character.
Following these edits, the film received a UA 13+ rating. The censor certificate, issued on February 17, confirms a runtime of 143.44 minutes (approximately two hours and 23 minutes).
