From Krishan Kumar to Shekhar Suman, celebrities who endured the ultimate loss of their own children

The tragic news of actor-producer Krishan Kumar's daughter Tishaa Kumar's passing has left the entire Bollywood industry in shock. The daughter of a T-series producer and former actor was just 20 years old. She has been undergoing treatment for cancer in Germany for the past three years. However, she lost the battle on July 18.

The entire film industry is devastated. At her funeral, several big celebrities including Bhushan Kumar, Saiee Manjrekar, Riteish Deshmukh, Farah Khan, Anand L Rai and Sajid Nadiadwala among others were spotted.

It is always a tragedy when a parent outlives their child. Apart from Tishaa Kumar's death, there are several other children who tragically passed away at a very young age.

1. Shekhar Suman

During the promotions of Heeramandi, Shekhar Suman had opened up on losing his elder son, Aayush, to a heart ailment at age 11 on 3 April 1995. While talking to Bollywood Bubble, he shared, "There came a low phase when nothing was working. That¡¯s when the struggle started, and it worsened when I discovered in 1989 that my son was terminally ill. That was the end of me, that was the end of my career, I thought that was the end of my life, family, everything. For each day that passed, I sat next to my son, holding him in my arms thinking, ¡®One day he is going to go away.'"

2. Govinda

Govinda has two kids - a daughter Narmada "Tina" Ahuja and son Yashvardhan. Govinda and wife Sunita's first daughter was a premature baby who passed away when she was four months old.

3. Asha Bhosle

Veteran singer Asha Bhosle lost not one but two of her kids. Her eldest son Hemand passed away due to cancer in 2015. Her daughter Varsha Bhosle, and Indian singer, journalist and writer based in Mumbai, died by suicide at the age of 56. She reportedly had a history of depression, which was exacerbated by the death of a close friend. She had even undergone psychiatric treatment.

4. Kabir Bedi

Kabir Bedi who has been married four times to Protima Gauri, Susan Humphreys, Nikki Bedi and Parveen Dusanj had two kids from his first wife Pooja Bedi and Siddharth, who died by suicide at the age of 26 in 1997 after he was diagnosed with schizophrenia.

5. Jagjit Singh

Jagjit Singh lost his youngest son, who was just 20, in an unfortunate accident. The pain grew stronger his step-daughter, from his wife Chitra's first marriage, took her own life following a troubled marriage. Two years later, Jagjit himself passed away.
