Drugs Case: From NCB's Cruise Raid To Aryan Khan's Arrest & Court Proceedings, Here's A Timeline

Several people were detained following a raid on a party on a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai by NCB ( the Narcotics Control Bureau), sources said on Saturday. The case snowballed into a high-profile controversy after Shah Rukh Khan's eldest son, Aryan Khan's name came into the picture. Here's the complete timeline of the case.

1. NCB busts rave party on a cruise ship off Mumbai coast

According to sources, The NCB team boarded the ship disguised as passengers based on a tip. They said that the anti-drugs agency seized banned substances allegedly consumed at a party on board the ship.

2. No arrests made, but Bollywood actor's son among 10 held

"So far, no arrest has been made by us," Sameer Wankhede, NCB Zonal Director, said while speaking to media, reported news agency ANI on October 2. "We have intercepted some persons. The probe is underway. Drugs have been recovered. We are investigating 8-10 persons,"

Three of eight persons, who were detained in connection with the Narcotics Control Bureau raid on a cruise ship, have been arrested, NCB sources said on Sunday.

Sources said, "Aryan Khan, Arbaz Seth Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha have been arrested for the raid at a party at a cruise off the Mumbai coast. They will be produced before the Court." As per Court, three persons have been booked under Section 8C, 20b, 27 (Punishment for consumption of any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance) and 35 (Presumption of culpable mental state) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act)

The high-profile raid on Sunday yielded 13 grams of cocaine, 21 grams of charas, 22 pills of MDMA, and 5 grams of MD in all, the NCB has said.

6. After being detained and questioned for hours, Aryan Khan, Arbaz Seth Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha were arrested.

Before this, the Narcotics Control Bureau had taken Aryan Khan, Arbaz Seth Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha to the Esplanade Court in Mumbai. The NCB demanded two-day custody of them till October 5. Aryan was presented before the Killa court along with others on Sunday evening. Senior advocate Satish Manshinde represented him. They were remanded to NCB custody till Monday.

7. Aryan Khan's lawyer Satish Maneshinde demanded bail, saying his client had been arrested only based on chat messages.

"Aryan had no ticket, no cabin or seat onboard the cruise. He was there because he had been invited. He didn't even have a boarding pass. Nothing has been found on him. He was arrested based on chat only." Satish Maneshinde, the lawyer, arguing in defense of Aryan Khan, said in the Court.

Aryan Khan was invited to the cruise party. However, he did not have a boarding pass. He didn't have any seat or cabin there. Secondly, according to the seizure, nothing has been found in his possession. He is arrested only based on chats."

8. After being arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Aryan Khan cried inconsolably during the interrogation, said sources.

Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan was arrested in the Mumbai cruise drugs case on Sunday. NCB official sources said Aryan Khan continuously cried during the interrogation. During the questioning, it was further revealed that Aryan Khan had been consuming drugs for almost four years.

The NCB sources further said that even when Aryan Khan was in the UK, Dubai, and other countries, he consumed drugs. Aryan Khan's 'nervousness' during security check alerted NCB officials; star kid allegedly cried during questioning.

9. A report in India Today quotes a source from NCB saying drugs were recovered from between women's sanitary pads and medicine boxes during the raid.

8. NCB will seek further custody of Aryan Khan.

"I cannot reveal the links and the findings of last evening's interrogation, but there are areas we need to investigate."-NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede on the Mumbai cruise raid.

Aryan Khan will be produced before a court in Mumbai today after he and seven others were arrested. The cruise company in a statement on Sunday said it had nothing to do with the incident.
