Vanangaan box office collection day 7: Arun Vijay¡¯s Vanangaan, which hit the screens on January 10, is doing decent business at the box office despite facing competition from Vishal's Madha Gaja Raja. The action drama continued its run on January 16 and remained stable at a lower level.

Director Bala originally planned to make the film with Suriya but that did not happen. He subsequently revived it with Arun Vijay in the lead.

Vanangaan, one of the most talked about Tamil movies of the Pongal season, has made a decent impact at the box office despite facing competition from other releases. According to Ramesh Bala, a trade tracker, it earned Rs 1 crore on its seventh day.

¡°Vanangaan made Rs 1 crore yesterday. This is the same amount it had earned on Wednesday,¡± he told Indiatimes.

Vanangaaan received mixed reviews with critics praising the performances but panning the execution. This worked against it. It also struggled to hold its own against Madha Gaja Raja, which opened in theatres on January 12 and emerged as the top choice of the audience.
