Rishab Shetty remarks on never leaving Kannada industry
Soon after the movie announcement, several users took to Shetty¡¯s comment section and reminded him of a controversial remark that he made last year about not doing movies outside the Kannada industry. The Kantara star spoke at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2023 where he was asked if he is interested in exploring Hindi cinema.
In his response, Rishab said, ¡°After the success of Kantara, I received offers not only from Hindi films but from several other languages besides Kannada. There are many beautiful opportunities that I am missing because I feel I should not leave the Kannada film industry. It¡¯s a sentiment. ¡®Ek film hit hua toh ye industry chhod ke ja raha hai, aisa nahi hona chahiye.¡¯¡±
Why is Rishab Shetty getting trolled for the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj film?
Another reason why Shetty is being called out is that people expected him to do a biopic on Kannada warrior Immadi Pulakeshi rather than go across borders to explore the life of Maharaj. This remark was unanimously echoed by a sea of his fans who questioned the actor¡¯s choice of movies considering his fanbase comes from a specific demography.
