Case lodged after actor Salman Khan receives a fresh death threat, Rs 2 crore ransom demand
Salman Khan has been a target of several threats in the past few months and amid extensive investigation, the actor has received a fresh death threat. The latest message received by cops also demanded Rs 2 crore ransom.
Actor Salman Khan has received a fresh death threat from an unknown man. In a message sent to Mumbai traffic police, the extortioner demanded a Rs 2 crore ransom and claimed that if the amount was not paid, the actor would be killed.
According to an India Today report, following the threatening message, Mumbai¡¯s Worli district police registered a case and launched an immediate investigation.
This comes just a day after Mumbai Police arrested a Noida man in connection with a threat call made to Salman Khan and late Baba Siddique¡¯s son Zeeshan Siddique. The accused is identified as Mohammad Tayyab aka Gurfan Khan and was arrested from Noida¡¯s Sector 39. The 20-year-old man had also demanded money from both Khan and Siddique.
It was on October 12 that former NCP legislator Baba Siddique was gunned down outside Zeeshan's office amid the firecrackers dazzle. In no time, the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the murder of the NCP leader and said that he had lost his life because of his close ties with Salman Khan. So far, cops have arrested 15 people in this case and the investigation continues in full spree.
This is certainly not the first time that Salman Khan has been given a death threat. Back in 2022, the actor¡¯s father and screenwriter Salim Khan had found a threatening letter against Salman on a bench during his morning walk. This was followed by an email threat allegedly by Goldy Brar in March 2023. At the start of 2024, several rounds of firing were opened outside his Bandra residence.
This was followed by two unknown people attempting to trespass into his Panvel farmhouse using fake identities. Salman Khan¡¯s security, especially after the Baba Siddique incident, remains heightened.
