Sona Mohapatra has recently applauded Abhay Deol for being the first actor from the industry to extend his support in her fight against Sony TV for rehiring Anu Malik despite so many sexual harassment allegations against him.
¡°The first actor from our industry to extend support, @AbhayDeol. Has always been a man with a mind of his own & has made his own road to travel in. Walks his talk! Thank you & big love. Also thank you for being on the right side of history,¡± she wrote on Twitter.

Anu Malik was kicked out of Indian Idol after sexual harassment allegations came to limelight from several women in the industry. However, last month, he was rehired for the new season of the show. This outraged Sona Mohapatra who was one of the women who accused him of sexual misconduct.
She lashed out Sony TV on Twitter after which it is being said that the channel is considering to remove him as the judge yet again. ¡°It takes only a Nirbhaya level tragedy for #India to wake up? Few days after these??,I was asked to leave my judge seat. My co-judge told me,the publicity I provided to Anu Malik took up the trps of our ¡®rival¡¯ show. (?!) A year later,a sexual predator is back on the same seat,¡± she wrote.
¡°Anu Malik may be shown the door in the next few weeks. They thought the backlash against him had quietly died down. They never anticipated this new rising roar of protest against his return to the show,¡± Deccan Chronicle quoted a source as saying.
Responding to this, singer Neha Bhasin had also opened up about the time when Anu Malik had made her feel uncomfortable. Sharing her experience, she called him an ¡°ugly pervert¡±.
I agee with you. We do live in a very sexist world. Anu Malik is a predetor, i too have run away from his strange moves when i was 21. I didn't let myself get into a sticky situation beyond him lying on a sofa in front of me talking about my eyes in a studio. I fleed lying https://t.co/tQgStLrYyT

(2) so forgiving to the men, do we realise that is what gives them the strength to ruin our dignity, hide us women in our houses. I hid many times so as to not get myself in a sticky situation. Why is it ok? For a man who is predetor to walk free while we hide in shame n fear? https://t.co/VcCxryE8Ff

Even though i have a brave DNA Sona :) as you have known me the industry or the world was not an easy place as a young girl alone away from family due to many such Incidents or getting a hunch of such perverts. Perverts exist inside n outside our industry but why are we so https://t.co/VcCxryE8Ff

Anu Malik, who was accused by four women including Sona Mohapatra and Shweta Pandit of #MeToo, had however denied the allegations last year.
