Vettaiyan Box Office Day 4: Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan¡¯s film beats lifetime collection of Kamal Haasan¡¯s Indian 2
Rajinikanth¡¯s recently released massive actioner Vettaiyan is ruling at the box office with huge numbers. On Day 4, the film smoothly managed to enter the Rs 100 crore club surpassing the lifetime collection of Indian 2.
Vettaiyan makers made the best use of the Dussehra weekend by releasing the film during this time and the box office collections are proof. As Day 4 concludes, the Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan starrer has achieved new feats, one of which is entering the Rs 100 crore club without any hassle. Vettaiyan which hit the theatres on October 10 saw an impressive box-office turnover over the past weekend.
With an average occupancy of 60%, box office tracker Sacnilk reported that the movie has earned Rs 149.8 crores globally with India's net at Rs 104.8 crores and gross at Rs 95.8 crores. This Tamil lingual is seeing major collections from their home belt followed by Telugu, Hindi and the least collection from Kannada theatres.
Decoding even more, the Tamil box office after a 4-day run stands at Rs 91.85 crores, Telugu collections at Rs 10.4 crores, Hindi net earnings at Rs 2.35 crores and Kannada revenue at just Rs 0.2 crores. With this, Vettaiyan has smoothly managed to surpass most of the 2024 Tamil films' box office collection and currently stands at number 3 after Vijay's GOAT and Dhanush's Raayan.
Interestingly, Vettaiyan in just 4 days has also crossed the lifetime collection of Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 which stands at Rs 148.9 crores. Trends predict that the film might cross Dhanush's Raayan collection by today (October 14) only however beating GOAT's box office collections seems a bit far from here.
Considering the pan-India matrix, Vettaiyan is yet to come out of the tag of an average runner despite a strong start. Having been released in several languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam, the film¡¯s performance outside Tamil Nadu has not been massively impressive yet.
For the unversed, Vettaiyan is Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan's reunion in almost 33 years. The duo previously shared the screen in films like Hum, Andhaa Kaanoon and Geraftaar.
