When Nayanthara regretted her decision to star in this Suriya film: ¡®I felt cheated¡¯
Nayanthara is regarded as one of the boldest stars in the Tamil film industry. A few years ago, she said that she regrets being part of Suriya's Ghajini. She added that the role was quite different from what she was promised.
Nayanthara is one of the biggest names in the Tamil film industry. The powerhouse performer enjoys a strong fan following because of her charming screen presence and bold nature. While everyone is aware of her body of work, not everyone may remember that she once openly criticised her decision to star in Ghajini. Yes, you heard it right, ¡®Thalaivi was not happy with her role in the Suriya-led actioner despite the fact that the flick emerged as a blockbuster at the box office.
When Nayanthara regretted doing Ghajini
Ghajini, starring Suriya and Asin, was one of the biggest hits of 2005. Moreover, it received rave reviews from all corners and soon attained cult status. However, Nayanthara¨C who played a key role in the AR Murugadoss-helmed film¨C wasn¡¯t happy about the response to her work in the blockbuster. A few years ago, she called the film the ¡®biggest mistake¡¯ of her career. She added that her role turned out to be quite different from what was promised to her during the narration.
¡°I consider doing Ghajini the biggest mistake in my career. While signing the film, I got a narration for my role but it didn't turn out the way as promised. I felt cheated. My character was quite different from how it was narrated. From then on, I made a conscious choice to listen to scripts properly,¡± she was quoted as saying by India Today.
Nayanthara eventually put the setback behind her and went on to emerge as the industry¡¯s resident ¡®Lady Superstar¡¯.
On the work front
Coming back to the present, Nayanthara is going through a terrific phase on the work front. She was recently in the limelight because of her Netflix documentary, which centred on her relationship with Vignesh Shivan. Nayanthara will soon be seen in The Test, co-starring R Madhavan. She also has Mookuthi Amman 2 in her kitty. It has also been reported that she is set to reunite with Prabhas for The Raja Saab.
Suriya, on the other hand, has films with Karthik Subbaraj and RJ Balaji in his kitty.
