The Ba***ds of Bollywood, the debut project of Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, was announced by the superstar himself at Netflix's Next on Netflix event this week. But Shah Rukh simply revealed the cheeky title. All other details are kept under wraps. It was rumoured that Lakshya and Sahher Bamba are the leads, which HT independently confirmed from production sources.
According to sources, The Ba***ds of Bollywood is a light-hearted satire on the inner workings of the Hindi film industry. The show will also contain cameo appearances from Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar, and Ranveer Singh. According to reports, Bobby Deol and Mona Singh will also star in the show. However, insiders insist that Sahher and Lakshya would serve as the story's anchor.
Who is Lakshya?
Lakshya, formerly known as Laksh Lalwani, had his acting debut in the TV drama Warrior High, but rose to notoriety for the title part in Porus, India's most expensive show. He was set to make his Bollywood debut in Dostana 2, with Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor, however the project was cancelled.
He then signed Bedhadak with Shanaya Kapoor, but the project was also abandoned. Lakshya ultimately made his cinematic debut with Kill, a brutal action picture that received international acclaim. He returns to the lengthy format with The Ba***ds of Bollywood after a 7-year absence.
Who is Sahher Bambba?
Sahher Bambba, a Himachal Pradesh girl, made her acting debut alongside Sunny Deol's son Karan Deol in the 2019 film Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. She later played minor roles in the Disney+ Hotstar programs The Empire and Dil Bekaraar. Sahher also starred in B Praak's music video for the song Ishq Nahi Karte, alongside Emraan Hashmi.
About The Ba***ds of Bollywood
The Ba***ds of Bollywood were previously referred to as Stardom. However, the official title was unveiled this week at a Netflix event, along with an announcement video starring Shah Rukh Khan.
According to reports, Shah Rukh makes a cameo appearance in the show, although the celebrity has neither acknowledged nor refuted this. He praised numerous other business pals for making cameo appearances in the show at the event, noting that he didn't have to approach anyone himself, as Aryan handled everything.
The Ba***ds of Bollywood is expected to premiere on Netflix this year. There is no announced release date.
