Let's take a closer look at each of these divas' looks and see who wore the saree better.
Genelia D'Souza vs Priyamani: Fashion face-off
Genelia D'Souza
Starting with Bollywood star Genelia D'Souza, the stylish actress stepped out in the number back in 2021. The number in question though is a black silk saree from the luxury fashion label of designer Ritu Kumar. The hand-painted six-yard features rust-orange diagonal stripes all over. The elegant saree also comes with multi-coloured painted borders on the pallu and the drape, which add a vibrant pop of colour to the otherwise jet-black look.
She paired the graceful saree with an elbow-length sleeved blouse with a sweetheart neckline. The backless blouse is adorned with multi-coloured patchwork details, gold thread embroidery and mirrorwork.
Genelia accessorised the outfit with statement bold gold-toned jhumkas, a delicate nose ring and golden and black bangles on one wrist. Even her makeup was equally on point to compliment the Gujarati-style saree and she went with a dramatic smokey eye with a mauve-nude glossy lip. Lastly, she went with a sleek hair bun with a middle part and a pulled-back look.
Priyamani
Coming to Priyamani's pick, the celebrated actress wore the graceful saree much more recently for the promotions of her film Maidaan. While there have been many times two actresses wore the same saree, they always made some kind of alterations to their look.
But surprisingly, Priyamani styled the saree in exact same manner as Genelia! From the style of the blouse to the drape, both looks were identical when it came to the outfit.
The differences came in their choice of accessories, make and hairstyles. Priyamani went with a more modern style of makeup, unlike Genelia's typical traditional look. Priyamani opted for relatively subtle eye makeup featuring nude eyeshadow and brought drama to her look with crisp cat eyeliner and a blush pink lip. Unlike Genelia's basic maroon one, Priyamni opted for a silver stone bindi.
For her accessories, the diva chose a handling pair of earrings and a pair of chunky gold bangles. Additionally, she completed her look by keeping her luscious locks open and letting them cascade over her shoulder.
Since both divas styled the saree in their unique ways, it is entirely up to you to decide which one wore it better and whose look made you bookmark the graceful six yards of silk for the future!
