Homemade Mango Chutney Recipe
Ingredients
3 cups raw mango (grated)
1 cup sugar
1 tbsp mustard oil
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp black caraway (kalongi)
1 whole red chilli (dried)
1 tsp ground chilli
1 tsp salt
? tsp turmeric
? cup water
Instructions
- Peel and grate the raw mangoes.
- Heat the pan and add mustard oil and then lower the heat after a couple of minutes.
- To the heated oil add red chilli, black caraway and cumin and let the cumin sputter.
- Now add raw mango, salt, sugar and water and cook it without the lid for 15-20 minutes.
- Once the mango slivers turn translucent, add turmeric to the mix and let it cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Take the pan off the heat and, let the chutney cool and come to room temperature before storing.
