Interesting fashion pieces worn by celebs at the Ambani wedding
1) Deepika Padukone
Mom-to-be Deepika Padukone wore a stunning sindoori-red suit for the wedding ceremony. The bespoke ensemble featured zardosi embroidery and was custom-designed by luxury fashion label Torani with the 20th-century Sindhi Choga Shalwar as inspiration. While the outfit was indeed regal, it was her jewellery that stole the show! Deepika wore a choker that is actually an antique bazuband with a history tied to the family of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the emperor of the Sikh Empire.
2) Alia Bhatt
The ever-enchanting Alia Bhatt arrived at the star-studded event in a bright pink saree that is part of designer Manish Malhotra's archival weave collection. According to Diet Sabya, a popular fashion Instagram account, it is actually a 160-year-old woven Ashavali sari made in Gujarat on pure silk. The saree features a real zari border which is 99% pure silver and approximately 6 grams of real gold. She paired her graceful saree with a shimmery bustier-style blouse and exquisite jewellery.

3) Nick Jonas
International sensation and our desi girl Priyanka Chopra's husband, Nick Jonas, looked dapper at the event in a pink-hued sherwani designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The sherwani featured a tweed-like texture and shimmery silver embellishments all over. What immediately stood out in his ensemble though, was a combination of broaches that adorned his heavily embellished ensemble. Sourced by celebrity stylist Ami Patel, the broaches featured jewel-encrusted flowers and dragonflies.
4) Janhvi Kapoor
Janhvi Kapoor gave off goddess vibes in her golden lehenga that was custom-designed by none other than Falguni Shane Peacock. Proving that there can never be too much gold, she wore a heavily embroidered lehenga that featured gold sequins and paired it with statement gold jewellery. However, it was her lehenga's bralette-style choli that shined. While all that shines isn't always gold, this time it actually is! You'll be surprised to know, the choli was designed by using real gold temple jewellery and is truly a sight to behold.
5) Natasha Poonawalla
Putting her maximalist fashion foot forward, Natasha Poonawalla donned a custom Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga. Inspired by 'sehra', the ensemble featured textiles and craftsmanship of Farshi and Zardozi of Awadh, Banarasi brocade, Bandhani from Kutch and pure Dhakai of Bangladesh. However, what's most interesting about her look is a vintage headpiece that originally belonged to her grandmother who wore it as a necklace for her wedding in the 1940s.
While Anant and Radhika's grand wedding ceremony may be over, there are at least two more celebratory events left. The 'Shubh Aashirwad' ceremony on Saturday and the 'Mangal Utsav' ceremony on Sunday. So stay tuned as we keep a look out for many more pieces to add to this list!
