Ram Navami 2024: Ayodhya, a city known for its religious devotion, is lit up with celebrations for Ram Navami, a significant religious festival following the consecration of Ram Lalla in January. This event marks a historic moment at the temple built on Lord Ram's birthplace after a wait of 500 years.

Chappan Bhog to be offered to the deity
The main attraction of the celebration is the Surya Tilak ceremony, where sunlight delicately touches the forehead of Ram Lalla at exactly 12:16 pm. Also, a grand feast of 56 delicious foods, called Chappan Bhog, will be offered to the deity on the last day of Chaitra Navratri, which falls on Wednesday.

Surya Tilak ceremony to be held
In a special addition to the festivities, a Surya Tilak ceremony for Lord Ram will take place for five minutes starting precisely at 12:16 pm. Chairman of the Ram Mandir Nirman Samiti, Nripendra Mishra, stated, "On Ram Navami, sunlight will gently touch Lord Ram Lalla's forehead for about 5 minutes at 12:16 pm, and detailed technical arrangements have been made for this celestial moment. Scientists are working hard to showcase this event with great splendor."
Visiting hours extended
To accommodate the expected influx of devotees, the management of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra has extended visiting hours at the revered Shri Ram Lalla temple in Ayodhya. General Secretary Champat Rai announced that devotees can offer prayers until 11 pm on Ram Navami.
The festivities began with the Mangala Aarti at 3:30 am on April 16, coinciding with the auspicious Brahma Muhurta. Following this, rituals like Abhishek, Shringar, and Darshan were performed smoothly. Shringar Aarti was held at 5 am, followed by darshan and worship rituals.
On Ram Navami, the temple premises will be filled with offerings and prayers, concluding with the Bhog and Shayan Aarti at 11:00 pm, depending on the prevailing circumstances.
