The Railway Recruitment Cell, East Central Railway (RRR, ECR) has announced the start of application procedure for 1,832 apprentice vacancies in various trades. The last date to apply for the apprenticeship is 5 pm on December 9, 2023.

The eligibility criteria for the post are as follows:

1. Age limit

- The candidate should have completed 15 years of age and not have exceeded 24 years of age as of 1 January 2023.

- The upper age limit is relaxable for following categories to the extent indicated:

• By 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST communities
• By 3 years for candidates belonging to OBC communities
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) have age relaxation of 10 years for Unreserved category, 13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC/ST.

2. Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) reservation

Candidates who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SC/ST/OBC- NCL and whose family has gross annual income below Rs. 8.00 Lakh (Rupees Eight Lakhs only) are to be identified as EWS.

3. Educational qualification

The candidate must have the following educational qualifications:

• The candidate must have passed Matric/10th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination system) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from recognized Board.
• The candidate must have ITI in relevant trade (i.e. a National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by National Council for Vocational Training or a Provisional Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training/State Council for Vocational Training).

A merit list of candidates will be prepared for each division/ unit, taking the average of the marks obtained by the candidates in both Matriculation with minimum 50% (aggregate marks) and ITI examination, giving equal weightage to both.

For calculating the percentage obtained in Class 10, marks obtained by candidates in all subjects will be reckoned and not based on marks of any subject or a group of subjects.

If two candidates have the same marks, the candidate with older age shall be preferred. In case the dates of birth are also the same, then the candidate who passed matriculation exam earlier shall be considered first.

Step 1: Visit the official website of RRC (ECR).

Step 2: Login by clicking the relevant link on the homepage. Or, directly apply through this link.

Step 3: Fill in your Personal details/Bio-data etc. carefully.

Step 4: While registering, candidates must fill in their 12-digit Aadhar Card number. Those candidates who do not have an Aadhar card and have enrolled for the same but have not received an Aadhar card can enter 28-digit Aadhar Enrolment ID printed on the Aadhar enrolment slip.

Step 5: Upload scanned copies of the documents required.

Step 6: Download and save a copy or take a printout of the application form for future reference.
