Woman claims 'toxic boss' fired her for opposing mandatory Raksha Bandhan attendance¡ªhere's the full story
As Raksha Bandhan approaches, a company¡¯s decision to cancel the holiday and enforce mandatory attendance has caused an uproar. An HR representative who opposed the policy was dismissed, leading to widespread support for her and calls for legal action against the company.
With Raksha Bandhan approaching on August 19, many employees are looking forward to a well-deserved long weekend. However, one company's decision to cancel the Raksha Bandhan holiday and enforce mandatory attendance has sparked controversy. When an HR representative opposed this change, they were promptly dismissed, igniting a heated debate about workplace policies and employee rights.
Here's what the woman posted on LinkedIn:
She even shared WhatsApp conversations with her boss, in which the boss stated: "On August 19th, Raksha Bandhan, there will be no half-day or short leave granted. Attendance is mandatory."
When she responded, arguing that this was neither ethical nor compliant with legal or fundamental rights, her boss retaliated with an email notifying her of her termination.
"Tried to take a stand for what was wrong as per the laws. But got a termination letter as a result. He mentioned in the email that he will give 2 weeks of time to me but he revoked all the access so that I can leave immediately. This is my chat with my boss and he terminated me because I took a stand and suggested to him that we cannot deduct 7 days of salary for 1 day of absence," she posted on LinkedIn.
The company has responded by denying her claims and asserting that she was terminated due to incompetence in her HR role.
Despite this, many people have rallied to support her.
One commenter remarked, "Seems the boss is still promoting colonial rule and slavery. Stay Strong."
Others have advised her to consider sending a legal notice for wrongful termination, workplace harassment, and bullying.
