For more than five years BJP leaders, ministers, and online trolls had only one thing to tell to those who disagreed with them - Go to Pakistan. They wanted everyone from Bollywood actors to writers, journalists, and beefeaters to 'go to Pakistan'.
Now in a refreshing change, a BJP leader has asked people to go to another country - North Korea!
Meghalaya Governor, Tathagata Roy, a staunch RSS member who is often in the news for his controversial political comments is at it again. Commenting on the ongoing protests in Meghalaya and other northeastern states, Roy said those who do not want ¡°divisive democracy¡± to go to North Korea.
"A democracy is necessarily divisive. If you do not want it, go to North Korea," Roy said in a tweet. "Two things should never be lost sight of in the present atmosphere of controversy. 1. The country was once divided in the name of religion. 2. A democracy is NECESSARILY DIVISIVE. If you don't want it, go to North Korea," he wrote.
His tweet came hours before protesters reached the entrance of the Raj Bhavan, tried to breach security following which they were lathi-charged and police used tear-gas and seriously injured several protesters.
The protesters were demanding the Governor to give his assent to the proposed ordinance that seeks mandatory registration of outsiders entering the state and at the same time for the Centre to implement the Inner Line Permit in the state.
Meghalaya is one of the three northeastern states that have witnessed the biggest protests in recent days over the Citizenship Amendment Act. On Friday, Home Minister Amit Shah had cancelled his visit to Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh over the ongoing situation in the region.

#TathagataRoy was BJP State President Bengal & was also part of BJP National Executive, BJP's central policy-making body. He never won any election, so BJP rewarded him to become Governor.

In June this year, commenting on the draft National Education Policy over the Three-Language Policy, Roy who was once the state President of BJP in West Bengal had said that due to the opposition to learn Hindi, Bengali boys are sweeping floors and girls are becoming bar dancers.
In the past, he had called to bury the bodies of terrorists wrapped in pigskin and excreta. Following the Pulwama terror attack, Roy had called for a boycott everything Kashmiri.
