33-YO Kerala Man Puts Open Marriage Proposal Outside His Shop, Flooded With Responses

Finding someone to spend the rest of your life with can be a struggle at times. Even in this day and age, with dating apps to matrimony sites and old-fashioned matchmakers, the search can at times drag on.
That is what Unnikrishnan, a native of Thrissur District in Kerala has learned from the past few years of his life.

After struggling to steady the boat of his life for years, when Unnikrishnan felt that it is time for him to get married, things did not go as well as he planned.
So, his wait for a soulmate continued and Unnikrishnan was getting frustrated.
That is when an idea sparked inside Unnikrishnan, who runs a small roadside stall Vallachira.
He put a board in front of his shop reading 'Bride wanted, religion/caste no bar'.
The small board that also had Unnikrishnan's mobile number became a hit on social media after a friend uploaded it with the story of his struggle to find love.
After the post went viral, Unnikrishnan said the response has been unbelievable.

According to him, these days he is swamped with so many calls to the point he is unable to do anything else other than attending them.
Unnikrishnan also told local media that he even got a few calls from outside the country, including Italy and Australia, expressing interest.
Interestingly, it is not just girl's or their families that are calling Unnikrishnan, but men, who like him are unable to find life partners, asking to share contact details of 'proposals he had rejected.
Incidentally, a couple of years ago another youth too had tried something similar.
In 2017, Ranjish Manjeri, a 34-year-old photographer from Manjeri in Malappuram posted on Facebook saying that he had failed to find a life partner in all these years and that he wanted to marry someone who can understand him.
The post went massively viral, and soon Ranjish was married.
