With Over 300 Fresh COVID-19 Cases, Ahmedabad's Overall Tally Crosses The 17,000-Mark

12,057 patients have recovered in Ahmedabad. 235 patients have left the hospital as on June 16. The latest numbers say that Panch Mahal has the worst mortality rate in the state.
The state has been witnessing record cases for a few days now and the number is expected to go up. Under Unlock 1, a number of public places opened up in Gujarat from June 8.
Rising number of cases in India
India has so far recorded over 3.5 lakh cases of COVID-19 patients. On Tuesday, the country witnessed highest deaths so far - 2003 people succumbed to COVID-19. A total of 10,974 people tested positive for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the nation before his meeting with Chief Ministers and said, ¡°In the last few weeks, thousands of Indians returned to India from abroad and hundreds of migrant workers reached their hometowns. Almost all modes of transport have resumed operations, still, COVID-19 impact has not been that huge in India as in other parts of the world. Because of the efforts made in the last few weeks, green shoots have begun to be visible in our economy.¡±
Presently, India sits at the fourth spot on the list of most COVID-19 patients. USA, Brazil and Russia have more than patients than India. The country entered Unlock 1 on June 1. However, the lockdown was extended till June 30 in containment zones.
